Redesign Portal Plus

Research

In order to properly understand the current product and customer needs, we conducted three two-week long workshops. One in Ireland, one in New York City and one over zoom (due to Covid outbreak April 2020).

During the workshops, my team and I introduced design thinking to the participants through the double diamond. We kept them updated on the process our work was following as well as introduced them to different tasks.

The tasks helped us work with stakeholders to uncover data. We completed personas, empathy maps, interviews, journey maps, service blueprints, a business model canvas, card sorting, among other ice breakers and ideation exercises.

Analyzing Research

During workshop weeks, my fellow designers and our offshore designers met to compile findings and find main takeaways from the activities. Our main objective was to build an end to end journey maps which would be transcribed into a wireframes from our offshore team - then once we were done with workshops and able to contribute our time, a high fidelity prototype.

All activities were recorded via photos, physical paper or written notes.

Iterating and Final Product

My team, consisting of 5 designers, and I worked on creating a fully functional prototype through Figma. We met with the team leads at HPE consistently to present and gather feedback. The final result, after many iterations, encompassed over 60 screens. Each screen focused on consistency to help users navigate through complex data, as well as intuitive filtering and sorting features to manage potentially thousands of assets.

The project was extended after the first phase, with myself and another team member being hand picked by the client out of our team of 10 to continue the work. We continued to work with the client and oversee the beginning of development for the customer portal.

Prototype available upon request.
